About the Nokia 7330 Intelligent Service Access Manager

The Nokia 7330 ISAM (Intelligent Services Access Manager) is a high-capacity access node produced by Finnish technology company, Nokia. It forms part of Nokia’s wider ISAM family, which also includes the 7360. It is capable of utilising Nokia’s ISAM voice, a multiservice access platform which provides VoIP media gateway functionality to interconnect legacy POTS and ISDN PRI customer premises terminals to next-generation backbone networks.

This FTTN (Fibre to the Node) solution allows operators to easily combine both fibre and copper access technologies in one easy-to-use platform. It is able to deliver high-speed broadband service directly to the end user. With its advanced access technologies and distributed architecture, the Nokia 7330 ISAM enables operators to offer an extensive range of advanced services with exceptional reliability and performance. 

The Nokia 7330 shares the same technical specifications as the Nokia 7302 ISAM, however, there is a difference in size. The 7302 has a 16-slot shelf whereas the 7330 has an 8-slot shelf. In each a mix of line termination (LT) cards and splitters can be housed. It is also possible to configure the Nokia 7330 ISAM into a non-redundant configuration, at which point it can host an additional 2 line cards or splitters. 

There are several different line cards that can be housed within the Nokia 7302 ISAM depending on the requirements of the business, including Multi-DSL, VDSL2 and VDSL2 Vectoring cards for POTS or ISDN overlay. 

The Nokia 7330 ISAM is also highly flexible, supporting multiple access technologies including DSL, GPON, and Ethernet. It provides an easy transition for operators wishing to move from traditional copper to fibre access nodes. 

Designed to be reliable, with ease of use being a core principle in its design, the Nokia 7330 ISAM platform features distributed architecture and redundant components to ensure maximum uptime and minimum service disruptions. Operators can also remotely monitor and manage the status of the platform enabling them to quickly identify and resolve issues. In addition, the Nokia 7330 ISAM is designed to support rapid service deployment, meaning operators can quickly and easily provision new services, enabling them minimise overall network downtime. 

The Nokia 7330 ISAM also offers a range of advanced features designed to enhance the customer experience. These include Quality of Service (QoS) management, traffic shaping, and advanced security features to protect against cyber threats. The platform also supports multicast services, enabling operators to deliver high-quality video and other data services to multiple subscribers simultaneously.

Originally manufactured by Alcatel Lucent, this platform was known as the Alcatel-Lucent 7330 ISAM FTTN. After their acquisition by Nokia in 2016, production of this model was continued under the Nokia brand, however, technical specifications and parts were compatible between both units.
