The Charlie Taylor Jay Foundation
Less than 2 miles away from our Solihull offices, there’s a dedicated team of volunteers running workshops and enrichment activities for the kids of the community. With a focus on supporting mental health and wellbeing, we were keen to lend a hand.
Why would you like TXO’s support?
Hi, I’m Stephanie James the Customer Operations Manager for MMX (part of the TXO group). You might not know this about me but I’m also a founding member and Vice-Chair of The Charlie Taylor Jay Foundation, formerly established in 2018. We fund youth work focusing on 10 to 16 year olds in Cheswick Green, less than 2 miles away from MMX’s Solihull offices.

We would love to become one of TXO’s community & charity partners of the year. With your support we’ll be able to run a number of horse therapy sessions for the children in the autumn, aimed specifically at dealing with anxiety. It will be done in groups of 10 by trained professionals at our local stables.
About The Charlie Taylor Jay Foundation
Our foundation was born from the tragic loss of Charlie, a 15 year old from our village, on 4th November 2017 and our aim is that by providing more support, understanding, and education this will never happen again. We consist purely of volunteers and our main focus has and always will be the mental health and wellbeing of our community’s youth.
The foundation self-funds and runs the CGM Youth Club, which is held on Friday evenings in our Village Hall. We hold workshops and enrichment activities for the kids of the community, focusing on issues the youth of today face including anxiety, self-harm and knife crime. We hold football training sessions, self-defence sessions, provide lots of different arts and crafts materials, have food tasting prepared by our volunteer chef, bring in special guests to talk to the kids, play games and try and engage the kids as well as educate them.
As we are self-funded, we are continually looking to raise funds to keep our youth club running. Although as volunteers we give our time freely, there are still running costs and equipment purchases required. We are hugely grateful for any donations we receive, whether that be money, equipment, or someone’s time.
