The Lucent DDM-2000 is an impressive SONET multiplexer unit that combines a scalable selection of features with easy upgradability and servicing options.
The DDM-2000 uses three different SONET multiplexers that allow effective performance scaling from OC-1 to OC-3 and OC-12. They achieve this by simply replacing your existing optic packs or adding new ones. The OC-1 system delivers 51.84MB/s of bandwidth, which steps up to 155MB/s with OC-3, and the OC-12 upgrade can ramp the throughput up to 622MB/s.
Elsewhere, the DDM-2000 can deliver additional bandwidth thanks to its DWDM options, and the deployment of a narrowband and wideband shelf means the DDM-2000 supports 48 DS0 services and 28 DS1s and a sole DS3. The Lucent also includes 2BIQ encoding and supports 2 HDSL ports per circuit pack, so you’ll get greater efficiency and distance from copper wiring.
Lucent’s platform includes a full range of maintenance features and control options to simplify installation and management. Furthermore, software updates are fast and straightforward thanks to the in-built 10MB/s intraoffice connection.
Traffic switching is automatically engaged if power outages or other issues threaten your hardware, and dual-ring interworking protects against total office failures.
