The Lucent 1665 Metropolis DMX ( data multiplexer) is used for multi service aggregation of TDM and Carrier Ethernet from the LAN into the Backbone optical network. It has cards for OC-192 and OC-48 ( STM-64 and STM-16). It is still in use in USA, Europe and Middle East. This platform is now Nokia portfolio.

The TXO repair centre has a Lucent DMX 1665 shelf for use as a reference system. This means that cards can be tested, diagnosed and re-tested following repair intervention, including multi – service traffic testing of Ethernet and TDM interfaces.
