The architecture behind the C4 CMTS allows this unit to provide Layer 3 edge routing, hitless RF sparing and high-end CMTS functionality in a 21-slot chassis. The mid-plane architecture also enables continuous system operation. And because this is release 8.3 of the C4 CMTS, you get new features like hitless dynamic downstream and upstream load balancing, and improved energy management.
The system accepts a variety of extra modules, too, including a System Control Module that supports SCM II, SCM II EM and SCM III, and it also handles Router Control Module hardware and both Downstream and Upstream Cable Access Modules. Components are upgradable using software so your hardware stays relevant, too.
The C4 improves your company’s OPEX and ROI thanks to its small footprint, reduced power consumption and modest cooling requirements, and it can be placed in existing systems without needing extra hardware or expensive modifications.
