TXO Systems has opened its first China office in Beijing following the appointment of Telecoms OEM veteran Jason Yang. TXO already has an established presence in Asia Pacific with offices in Australia but this latest expansion will help further drive the impressive 40% CAGR experienced by the company in the last three years.

The new TXO China office will be based in the Chao Yang district of Beijing, home to some of the largest multinational companies that have invested in the region.

Explaining its ambitions for the Chinese Market, the company stated that the recycling and recovery of e-waste in China is still in its infancy and that this presents a prime opportunity to engage with telecoms recycling and repair partners across the 34 provinces.  In addition, the heightened attention of the Government regarding the recycling and scrapping of used telecom infrastructure means that there is a growing supply of legacy 2G, fixed line and surplus equipment in the market.

Jason Yang, China Office Manager, commented “The TXO Asset Recovery concept of Recover, Reuse, Resell, Recycle is relatively unknown among the big three state owned Telecoms Operators so there is an important education exercise required to help overcome a predominantly risk averse attitude. However the opportunities to recover decommissioned equipment are enormous and far outweigh the challenges.”

On the sales front, the expansion of 3G networks into rural areas and the upgrade to 4G networks in metropolitan areas provides a buoyant market for the supply of legacy parts. The switch over of traffic onto the newer platform is not always an easy or seamless task for the Operators concerned. In such cases the TXO business model is a great fit.

Commenting on the new venture, Darren Pearce, Telecom Services Director, said “Our decision to invest in China is an important milestone for TXO Systems and we have already identified a number of strategic partners that are enthusiastic to work with us. The move has also cemented our relations with incumbent OEM giants Huawei and ZTE whom are benefiting from the closer co-operation & better communication afforded through a local TXO presence.”
