TXO highlights revenue potential and OPEX savings from improved asset visibility & inventory management.

TXO is today calling for telecoms network operators to improve their equipment inventory management and release untapped revenue sitting in their organisations. TXO, who recovers up to 100,000 unused parts per month, believes that operators are sitting on a ‘goldmine’ of equipment assets that could be reused within their own networks, sold to other operators for significant profit, or recycled.

TXO’s market intelligence shows that as much as 50 per cent of operator’s assets are not properly catalogued, and this poor visibility renders them practically useless. Hidden and trapped assets can be identified and redeployed to support existing network maintenance programmes. TXO can also use its own inventory tools and data to assess the equipment to maximise revenues through sales or recycling.

TXO sells thousands of parts per month to operators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), raising more than £10m for operators in 2014 to date. The sale or reuse of unused assets can also provide cost savings in areas such as warehousing and logistics management.

“Many operators have been used to being cash rich. Their only concern was growing or maintaining their network’s infrastructure with new equipment and they had little focus on the management of assets. Today, with data traffic increasing, ARPU decreasing and infrastructure ageing, the pressure is really on operators to find new ways to maintain networks, protect existing investments, and release revenue,” said TXO’s VP of business Development, . “Studious inventory management can play a significant role in all three areas. The earlier operators seize the benefits of using secondary markets, the faster they can cease relying on OEMs, and open a new revenue stream.”

Working on a global basis, TXO has supported de-installation across more than 70 countries. It works directly with more than three quarters of the top 100 telcos and has over 600 customers worldwide.
