We are pleased to share that a raffle held to raise funds for life changing surgery and intensive therapy for Ethan, a bright and bubbly 4 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy, has raised over £1600, with prizes such as tickets for the X-Factor Live Final and Under Armour Series 2016 Autumn international rugby events proving popular.

TXO’s Business Development Manager and coordinator of the fundraiser said: “The raffle for Ethan was a huge success, and we’re delighted with the amount of money raised towards Ethan’s surgery and therapy. I’d like to thank everyone who bought a ticket and the scores of local businesses and institutions who contributed to the event by donating time, gifts or services.”

Ethan suffers from Cerebral Palsy, a condition which makes it difficult for him to walk and move around by himself. For the last 6 months Ethan’s friends and family have been working towards raising £35,000 for Just4Children to fund pioneering Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery, an operation to permanently reduce the spasticity in his legs, and two years of intensive physiotherapy.

Thanks to the funds raised at the raffle, Ethan’s operation costs can now be covered, but there is still a lot of fundraising required for his post-operation physiotherapy.

The prospect of complex surgery is daunting, but his parents, friends and supporters are determined to give this courageous little boy greater independence and the chance to play more easily with his friends.
