Telcos need to have confidence in their supply chains. Nobody wants to have counterfeit parts enter their network. Particularly as these products can suddenly fail, cause significant network outages or pose a serious threat to health and safety. At TXO, our commitment to quality is vital to all we do. It’s why we go to such great lengths to protect our supply chain, and yours, from the infiltration of counterfeit telecom network products.

What is a counterfeit product?

It is a suspect product that is a copy or substitute (without legal right or authority to do so) or one whose material, performance, or characteristics are knowingly misrepresented by a supplier in the supply chain.

How does TXO identify and eradicate counterfeit telecom network products?

TXO Systems has stringent practices in place to detect black market and counterfeit goods. The general principles of our counterfeit part prevention policy can be found below. Please note, because counterfeiting is a criminal activity, we also work with law enforcement agencies to help eradicate counterfeit telecom network equipment.

General principles of TXO’s Counterfeit Part Prevention Policy:

  1. Parts are purchased from TXO-approved suppliers. Where suppliers are new to us, appropriate checks take place.
  2. Items are inspected on delivery to spot any counterfeit parts.
  3. On discovery, counterfeit parts are photographed, and a counterfeit part form is completed with pictures included. This form will be communicated to the operations staff for training purposes. The original supplier is informed of the counterfeit items. The counterfeit items are destroyed to ensure they do not re-enter the supply chain.
  4. In the unlikely event counterfeit parts are received by a customer, the customer is to inform TXO Systems and return the parts.
  5. Any counterfeit items are reported to the TXO Systems Quality Manager.
  6. Non-conformity report to be raised by the Quality Manager and communicated to the Board. The Board acknowledges the report and agrees an outcome.
  7. All staff made aware of counterfeit items and any sanctions placed on the supplier as an outcome of the non-conformity report. Staff who directly inspect are trained in identification of counterfeit parts.

Don’t fall victim to fake products

TXO strives to maintain operational excellence and a secure supply chain.

  • All goods are booked into our internal ERP system and held in one of our secure warehouse locations with restricted access. This makes it easy for us to identify the source of each product if we discover a counterfeit.
  • Added to this, our processes and facilities are regularly audited. This includes independent audits carried out by OEMs and some of the biggest names in telecommunications.
  • If an audit sounds like something you may be interested in, please contact us to arrange a site visit.
