Ensuring our optical transceivers meet your system-level requirements

Availability and end user reliance on 3rd party optical transceivers has grown significantly since TXO started out in 2005. On our part, we are proud to offer our customers a clear point of difference in relation compatibility testing. This means we can replicate your network set-up inside our 5,000 sq ft ESD lab to develop optical transceivers that fit your needs perfectly.

How we test our optical transceivers for OEM compatibility

To begin with, our sales managers will immerse themselves in your setup to fully understand the OEMs and associated platforms in play. This helps us advise the correct level of functionality and form factors needed for your task. Once all the key information is gathered, we go to work!

We select the correct machine in scope and then run a full traffic test over a clean fibre in our lab. A full test report and lens clean image is available from the point of shipment. Code reads, HECI checks and alterations to vendor description are all taken care of at this point.

As part of our compatibility testing process we also check Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) read outs. Within the transceiver, DOM provides the user with real time operating parameters such as Tx power, Rx power, temperature of the module as well as power supply voltage. In addition we check that the transceiver is fully interoperable with the device by running a traffic test using an EXFO testing instrument. Where required, a BERT or RFC 2544 test report is also created.
