If you’ve been in the telecom space for a while, chances are you’ve seen your fair share of redundant sites sitting idle and unloved. In this case study you’ll see how our team was able to breathe new life into these facilities on behalf of a global systems integrator.

Requirement

Our client had over 6 sites across multiple locations in the Brazilian region that were no longer in use and essentially collecting dust. The client decided they wanted to optimise the unused space by clearing it to sell and rent out. Therefore, deinstallation of the site and leaving it in a presentable manner was the objective.

Solution

Our expert de-install team and associated partners took full control of site surveys, collection and disposal across the clients sites. After surveying, we completed the full site de-install which included taking out racks, cabinets, cable-pull and fixtures. We then collected and disposed of materials in line with Brazilian environmental regulations. After sustainable disposing of these materials we provided the customer with recycling certificates and the necessary documentation. By undertaking specific project management in partnership with the Tier 1 operator and offering full 4PL support, we successfully left the client’s sites presentable and ready for use immediately.

Result

Taking a fully consultative approach, we were able to deliver a turnkey solution that simplified the process of retiring the client’s legacy networks. This flexible approach suited the customer and provided them with a fully managed solution to ensure maximum residual value was recovered. Since the project the client has been continuing to generate revenue through site rental. This is an excellent result considering the sites were redundant beforehand.

As a fully audited and WEEE certified company, here at TXO we can recycle materials in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner. We promise to our clients a secure, safe and ethical recycling and disposal, with full Waste Electrical and Electronic (WEEE) reporting and compliance in our OEM and ESD audited facilities.
